Shalane is a strategic problem solver with a social entrepreneurial heart. Passionate about empowering business leaders and organisations to enhance their social impact, she is committed to leading a movement of innovative collaboration between nonprofit, public, and private sectors in South Africa. She recently created Laulima Partners, which mobilises stakeholders and faciliates value adding partnerships across sectors to address compex social and economic issues. Her dedication to global citizenship drives her academic background in international economics and policy, and practical consulting experience in the United States, Ghana,Rwanda, Namibia, and South Africa. These experiences have shaped her understanding of Africa’s development agenda and expertise in dealing with multi-cultural and diverse groups.
Shalane holds a Masters of Public Administration in international non-profit management and policy from New York University’s Robert F Wagner School of Public Service and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Sociology from the University of California San Diego.
